Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by bacteria. Tuberculosis is a highly contagious infection caused by the bacterium named Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis most commonly affects the lungs but also can involve almost any organ of the body. Tuberculosis can also affect the central nervous system, lymphatic system, circulatory system, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal system, bones, joints and skin of a person.

 Only people who are sick with TB in their lungs are infectious. When infectious people cough, sneeze, talk or spit, they propel TB germs, known as bacilli, into the air. Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious disease like the common cold, it spreads through the air. TB is passed on from person to person by droplets carried in the air, usually from coughs and sneezes.

 

Symptoms of Tuberculosis

Some symptoms of Tuberculosis are:

  • Symptoms of TB in lungs: a bad cough that lasts 3 weeks or longer, pain in the chest, coughing up blood or sputum.
  • Other symptoms of TB are: weakness or fatigue , weight loss ,no appetite ,chills ,fever,sweating at night,night sweats,flu-like symptoms,gastrointestinal symptoms.

  • A teaspoon of mint juice, mixed with two teaspoons of pure malt vinegar and an identical amount of honey, should be stirred in 120 ml of carrot juice. This must be given as a medicinal tonic thrice every day in the treatment of tuberculosis. It liquefies the sputum, feeds the lungs, increases body resistance against infection, and prevents the unsafe effects of anti-tubercular drugs.
