Scurvy is a disease caused due to Vitamin C deficiency in individuals. In Modern times cases of scurvy are rare. Vitamin C is necessary for synthesis of collagen and absorption of iron. Human beings cannot synthesize Vitamin C and they need an external source to obtain it like the citrus fruits.

Home Remedies for Scurvy
These are some effective home remedies for scurvy:
The use of jaundice berry is a trusted remedy in treating scurvy as its leaves anti scurvy. A decoction using these leaves should be prepared by boiling about 15 grams of water till it is reduced by one third. Take about 150 to 175 ml of the mixture at a time.
Mango powder is another beneficial substance and about 15 grams of the powder is considered to have the vitamin content of about 30 grams of good lime.
The amalaki(Indian Gooseberry) is the richest source Vitamin C. The fruit of this plant must be eaten regularly.
Extract the juice of one full lemon and mix it with a tablespoon of honey. Put this in a glassful of warm water. Drink it twice a day.
Potato is also a good remedy for scurvy.
For infants, the best deal would be to give them cow's milk, along with breast milk.
Fresh air and sunshine have proven to be beneficial in curing Vitamin C deficiency. Go out and enjoy mingling with nature.
A glass of orange juice is very beneficial.
Mix 100g of honey and 300g of onion pulp, add 1 bottle of dry white wine, stir, close and leave in cold and dark place for 4-5 days. Then filtrate and pour into clean bottle.Such wine will also help in case of a low immunity triggered by long or severe diseases.
Include 100gm of Spinach in your diet and get rid of the symptoms of Scurvy in a month.
